After my first run of 8 km at an easy pace, i can confidently say that the xtep 2000km 5.0 feel very good. The cushioning is comfortable and well-balanced. Compared to the previous 3.0 version, which i still use regularly and have over 500 km on, the 5.0 feels improved in terms of overall refinement. One upgrade is the laces — the 3.0 laces were not great, but the new ones on the 5.0 are excellent. Overall, a very positive first impression.

After the experience with version 2.0, today I tried the new version for the first time. They arrived yesterday and I can already say: it’s a shoe that doesn’t need any adjustment. You put it on and start running without any problems.
The upper part is very light and breathable, the thin and soft tongue does not cause any discomfort, and it’s easy to find the right position for the foot.
It’s not a shoe for those who like to “sink” their foot inside, but it has a substantial foam that supports the foot well and provides a nice push when taking off.
The previous model, after almost 400 km, had not lost any cushioning and the midsole also remained virtually unchanged visually. Compared to the 2.0, as I had already noticed from the photos, there is more foam underneath: the drop remains the same, but the stack height is greater, so there is also more material in the forefoot.

It definitely feels like an upgrade from 3.0.
First of all, it’s nice that the toe box has become a bit wider, and the shoelaces have been changed to allow for more flexibility.
The elasticity seems a bit stronger, and the stability is also better.

I was pleased that for my wide feet (12cm), high instep, and foot length of 26.5cm, I chose size 43.5 and it was a good choice, there’s still an extra 1cm. So the sizing is accurate.
