1. Hard drive capacity calculations vary from system to system.
For example, 1TB is 930GB on Windows and 918GB on PS5. 500GB is 465GB on Windows. This is normal, and is true for every hard drive on the market, and is not a false label.
About Capacity:
Hard disk vendors are using decimal arithmetic: 1MB = 1000KB, 1G = 1000MB calculated, but the operating system is using binary arithmetic: 1MB = 1024KB, 1GB = 1024MB.
So there are some differences between display capacity and nominal capacity of hard disk products. However, this is allowed to exist, please do not doubt his authenticity.
(250GB ≈ 232GB, 320GB ≈ 298GB,500GB ≈ 465GB,1TB ≈ 930GB.)
2. PS5 & XBox Series X/s games can't run directly on the hard disk due to game manufacturers' re-strictions. But you can run PS4 & XBox one games directly. As such, its role in the gaming device is to store and run PS4/Xbox 360/0ne games to make room for the Ps5/Xbox series X/s.
3. The first time you connect your hard drive to a game, it needs to be formatted before you can use it.
4. Make sure the cable is fully inserted into the connected device. Avoid reading failure or file loss due to poor contact.
