If you are an lover of good sound in your music, you have made the right choice. For me, it is very important that it has a headphone amplifier because it allows you to enjoy your music better. Quick configuration, as soon as I turned it on I went directly to update the operating system. It works very well, I have used it with different headphones and moved them without any problem, as well as a small DAC that I have. Read the SD card without any problem. It’s very compact and lightweight, you get used to it quickly, and the physical buttons work without any issues. It’s a great success since now iPods are not included, and you can add any SD card you want. When purchasing it, I bought a cover directly.
I got it on sale and with an AliExpress coupon, so in terms of quality and price, I can only say it’s crazy. Completely recommended if you are looking for something lightweight, small, simple, and hassle-free.

I love this tiny thing. Great sound quality. Great battery life. Comes very well packed and protected and arrived fast. The os is very simple and minimal, and only runs at 25-30 fps (it seems) which is sad, i hope they update it for 60hz to be smoother while scrolling. However its fine for its purpose and the os overall is clean and very well put together. I recommend people who buy this to update the firmware to the latest.

Alright, let’s start.
In terms of ergonomics, the player is comfortable to use.
With latest firmware(version 1.5):
1) added the ability to scroll back tracks if you press the Play button once (this needs to be configured in settings).
2) added a dark theme.
3) now in the settings you can choose to have the player start from where it was stopped or simply from the last track after turning off.
I also want to note that if you encounter an error while reading the track – it’s error 9 and 13, know that the problem lies in which memory.
With Kingston 128Gb memory cards, the player encounters this error: after turning it off and back on, the player stops recognizing the memory card. You need to remove and reinsert the memory card. Formatting does not help.
I changed the memory card to a Samsung 128 Gb – and such behavior was not noticed again.
I liked the sound (both regarding the audio and Bluetooth), it can be adjusted as needed.

Hiby r1 comes pre-loaded with firmware v1.3. Successfully upgraded to v1.5 which allows the play key button to be configured with a double click to play the previous song, which was a common gripe now addressed in the latest firmware update.
Select music icon >> select settings >> scroll down to play key function >> select single click: play/pause, double click: previous song.
Tiny size, great portability, lovely to hold with a glass front and back with a pebbled polycarbonate on the sides for additional grip. Easy to use ui, super responsive touch screen [press the power button once to blank the screen so you can pocket the player without accidently interrupting the music functions] set the brightness to the lowest setting 1 to preserve battery life and away you go!

An excellent DAP for those who are just starting out or prefer something more “pure.” This DAP does not have Android and that does not make it bad at all. To be honest, for those seeking a 100% offline experience, this is the best option in this price range. The system has some minor hiccups but nothing that hinders its operation. If you are looking for a DAP for streaming music, I DO NOT recommend this one. It’s worth noting that the R1 was specifically made for those who prefer to listen to music completely offline; the sound quality is impeccable, nothing to complain about.
