I dont have a previous device to compare, but this connects up easily to the tuya app, then onto wifi and controlled with my amazon echo. The app also makes setting daily timers an easy option for using cheap electricity over night, or during day when solar panels have spare. I have confirmed 200w energy use, and it seems to collect water very well and can stop at target humidity. I wouldnt want to sleep with it my bedroom due to the noise, but i think its an excellent device so far, i might even buy another.
