This highly regarded japanese watercolour set was a great price. It arrived within the specified period. The paints look wonderful, can’t wait to try them out. I like how different effects can be achieved by adding more or less water. They are often thought to be a medium somewhere between watercolours and gouache. Frankly this box is like a box of sweets for those who love painting.

I received the paint set within the specified time and it was well packaged. I really like the colors – especially because they are both transparent and opaque and easy to use (e.g. for mixing techniques) without losing their color intensity.
However, I am still in the process of getting to know the colors and their characteristics. I still need to test how well they can be layered with laser cutting.
The way certain shades/color groups react with each other using the wet-on-wet technique suggests different pigmentation and densities of the color shades: Some colors, for example… Indigo tends to displace and form fringed-like edge structures, while other shades in mixtures are more likely to be displaced, etc. Among other things, this leads to pigment separations, which I find very appealing.
These colors are definitely somewhat different from Western watercolor paints (e.g. by Jaxon or Schmincke).
