It heats up even when there is no signal if the matrix is connected. Without modification, it doesn’t work via Type-C; you need two 3.3k resistors on CC1 and CC2, which took quite a while to find. However, if you power the board from an external source and then disconnect it, the video via Type-C works. Some kind of oversight in the circuit design.
