I am satisfied – but still only 4 stars! Why: I wanted to use the antenna as a 10m antenna (28-29.7MHz) for my Radtel 950 Pro. I thought about shortening the spiral for that purpose. But it wasn’t necessary at all, as this antenna has its best resonant frequency between 29 and 29.5 MHz. Great for me, but unfortunately a bit stupid for “real” CB users on 11m, as the standing wave ratio is significantly above 3 there.

I bought this antenna to use with a thunderpole tx radio (same as jopix 514 and pni hp82). Given that the abree is more chunky and is longer than the thunderpole stock antenna i hoped it would perform better. In reality there is no difference in performance between the two. I’m still happy though – the thunderpole stock antenna is quite good for a rubber duck so the abree will make an impressive-looking spare.
